| Family Resources Family Learning Services has been privileged to be the recipient of information and resources beyond the usual scope of educational consultation. But the resources have a clear and powerful application to the educational enterprise. Recent advances in the field of neuroscience is bridging the gap between scientific discovery and treatment/therapy outcomes. This includes the medical, neurodevelopmental, behavioral, and health fields. The goal of Family Learning Services is to acquaint families with a combination of resources that can enable them to meet the basic needs of their children in their homes. ASSESSMENTS Structure of Intellect: SOI assessment clarifies learning abilities and provides guidance in schooling and curriculum planning, including social skills, visual/auditory needs, dyslexia, and other areas of concern. Additional testing may be appropriate including a Standardized Achievement Test. (Links: Abilities Assessments -- The Pointers 26-28) Medical and Behavioral: Dr. Daniel Amen can provide important information for families confronting medical/behavioral problems that are negatively impacting development and learning progress. As an "Amen E-Center," we can provide guidance through a personal evaluation process to clarify areas of specific needs. THERAPIES Neuro-Developmental: This is an evaluatiion of the three systems fundamental to academic learning: voluntary muscle movement, linguistic system, and academic system. Developmental Intergration of Learning: Optimizes neural networks.
